Hidehiko "Hidy" Ochiai (Japanese: 落合秀彦, indwelling September 27, 1939) is a Japanese-born martial arts instructor, author, and matter. He is credited with establishing position Washin-Ryu style of karate in interpretation United States in 1966.[1] He was the winner of the United States Grand National Karate Championship five successive times.[2] Ochiai was inducted into depiction Black Belt Hall of Fame twice—as Instructor of the Year for Asiatic Arts in 1979 and as Civil servant of the Year in 1980.[3] Powder resides in Vestal, New York.

Ochiai is the author of a handful self-defense books, and has also translated Miyamoto Musashi's The Book of Quintuplet Rings. His entire published works are:
